Pokhara Peace Pagoda Hike
Hiking in and around Pokhara is a really different experience. Pokhara is surrounded by green hills, offers plenty of options as a destination for hiking and the Pokhara hiking trips can be done all year round. When the weather is clear then early morning sunrise can lead to magnificent views of the Annapurna mountain range.
Pokhara Shanti stupa also known as Pokhara world peace pagoda is located on top of the Ananda hill at the height of 1100 meters. Shanti Stupa in Pokhara is the first World Peace Pagoda in Nepal and seventy-first pagoda built by Nipponzan-Myōhōji in the world. When the weather is clear then early morning sunrise can lead to magnificent views of the Annapurna mountain range. There are some restaurants close to the pagoda wherein you can sit out and enjoy the stunning view of mountain, lake and Pokhara valley.
It is a perfect spot for a view of the Himalayan range, Fewa Lake and Pokhara city. Many people go to the top for an amazing view of sunrise and sunset as well. It is 7 kilometers far from Pokhara and there are several ways to reach the peace pagoda. You can hike through several hiking trails, cycling there or few those who are not in good physical condition there is a possibility to take a taxi from Chorepatan.
World Peace Stupa is located on a hill just above the famous lake Fewa facing Mount Fishtail. The Stupa offers a great place to see the sunset over Pokhara and beautiful views of Annapurna and Fishtail. It can be accessed by hiring a boat and rowing across the lake and climbing for about 90 minutes, or by trekking from the road that passes Devi’s Falls.
