Mohare Danda Trek

Duration 6 Days Difficulty3300 m

A hill situated between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains in the district of Myagdi, Mohare Danda is a lesser-known viewpoint. However, the place is a stunning destination for anyone seeking a unique experience in the Annapurna Region.

With the final destination being merely 3 km away from Poon hill, Mohare Danda Trek is also referred to as Myagdi Community Eco Trek. The trail passes through hills, mountains, rivers, forests, and human settlements. You will also witness blooming rhododendron flowers all over the path if you do this trek during spring.

We begin our Mohare Danda Trek by driving up to Galeshwor and then trekking to Bans Kharka. Next day, we hike along the hills passing through beautiful villages and magnificent landscapes. Moreover, we will continuously have the view of mountains on our sight before arriving at Naangi. After 7 hours of a hike from Naangi through oak and rhododendron forests, we will reach Mohare Danda. We will enjoy sunrise and sunset view from the viewpoint. Then, we return to Pokhara via Landruk.

A Unique Vantage Point

Mohare Danda is arguably a better alternative to Poon hill as it provides more stunning views of the snow-clad mountains. These include Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Himchuli. Furthermore, it has culturally rich communities of Magar and Gurung ethnicities. So, you will get a chance to experience their unique customs and traditions. Additionally, you will be contributing to the overall upliftment of the local inhabitants.

This trek ensures that you have fun, entertainment and splendid view of the Himalayas, hills, and valleys. This is a family trek that you can do even with your kids.

You can do this trek at any time of the year. However, we recommend the months of March through May or September through November. Any other time, it is either too hot or too cold. We will take care of your entire food and lodging and make sure that you’ll smoothly complete this trek. Additionally, we provide an experienced guide that will accompany you throughout Mohare Danda Trek.

You can easily combine Mohare Danda Trek to the Khopra Trek. Instead of returning directly to Pokhara, you can follow the route of Mohare Danda Trek for the first 3 days. From there, you can descend to Swanta and then ascend to Khopra Danda.
