Sikles Trekking is another spectacular short trek with good Mountain View. It is located to the north east of Pokhara, at about 2000m elevations, in the shadow of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. It is a large village, possibly the second largest Gurung village in Nepal. Trekkers can see a well-preserved example of traditional Gurung culture, life-style of the people here and handicraft production. The local cloth weaving and the ancient water driven flourmills are another attractions of this village.
This beautiful camping trek is a great introduction to the beauty of the Annapurna range and to the Buddhist Gurung culture. Siklis is one of the largest Gurung villages in Nepal and offers an opportunity to learn about this unique traditional culture. A model trekking village, Siklis is a central part of the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA).
On this trek, we explore the northern side of Pokhara, which offers amazing views of the entire Annapurna range. You will see Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, Fish Tail and other giants from a uniquely scenic angle. This moderate trek starts and ends in Pokhara and goes no higher than 2000 metres, a great , short trek for anyone coming from lower elevations.

Autumn (mid Sept to mid Dec) and spring (March to May) are the best seasons for the Royal Trek. The weather is sunny and warm, with outstanding views but the nights are cold and can fall to freezing. Winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) is also good for Royal Trek, only colder (obviously). The trekking routes are crowded during spring and autumn but during winter the routes are not packed and you could enjoy rather best of nature.

The most importantly, tipping is at travelers discretion and should be relied on good service that does not form the part of wages for your Guides, porters and crew although they are very much appreciated. In Nepalese culture, tip is the accepted and honored way to saying thank you (Dhanyabada) for good service. Normally the tips are offered at the end of the trek and this is best done as a group. Most groups will give the trips in farewell dinner on the last evening or last day of the trek, to mark the end of the trip. The amount of the trip is entirely a personal preference that may be more or less depending upon your perception of service quality, length of trip, budget and appreciation of their work. It is important to Discovery World Trekking crews who professionally take care of you all the time during the trekking, inspire excellent service and offer enriching journey- trip of once in a lifetime experience. We ensure that all of our crews including guides and porters are paid well and treated fairly with respect.
